Homemade tofu burger

The burger is generally not considered the healthiest food, but we are trying to do it a little differently and maybe the burger’s reputation can change.

Homemade tofu burger

Tofu burger is an excellent idea for a barbeque if you’ve also decided to prepare some lighter fare.

Ingredients Directions
  • 2 packages smoked TOFU
  • 1 shallot
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • Spelt finely ground flour as needed
  • 1 tbsp. chopped parsley leaves
  • Ground black pepper and salt
  • Olive oil
  • Arugula
  • Tomatoes
  • 1 white onion
  • 4 burger buns


  1. Blend peeled shallots and garlic in a mixer or food processor until smooth.
  2. Add TOFU, a little salt, pepper chopped parsley and puree.
  3. Put the mixture into a bowl and add just enough flour necessary to thicken and so it isn’t sticky. Form into small patties. Cook patties on an oiled hot skillet or grill over coals.
  4. On a dry frying pan lightly fry the burger bun half’s (or put them on the grill).         Put arugula, cooked burger on the buns, add sliced tomatoes and onions. Serve with dressing and a side fresh vegetable salad.
